How to write for the press
31st May 2013
A new set of Training Notes uploaded to the website today encourages churches to write columns for their local newspapers whenever such opportunities are offered. TN75, Writing for the media, takes a case study of a weekly column in a free St Albans newspaper.
The notes show the guidelines that the team leader provides for the team of about eight contributors drawn from local churches and then gives three columns from the past year to show how these work out in practice. As a practical exercise readers are asked to improve each of the examples quoted, based on the guidelines provided.
Training Notes TN75, Writing for the media, are available from the Training Notes index page in the Resources section of this website.
