Resources e-letter 14:4 - August 2014
A new article in two parts has been uploaded to the website, Roles for a church office. There is also news of the new website which launched on 23rd July, of UCAN membership which has just passed the 1,000 mark, and reminders about autumn events.
NEW ARTICLE: ‘Roles for a church office’ uploaded yesterday
This is a double article which looks at church offices in six distinct ways. This first part in Article A33 examines the office as the church's:
- reception point
- communications hub
- staff shield.
This second part studies the office as the church's
- community interface
- volunteers' base
- administrative work-station.
Both parts provide principles to consider, ideas to check, examples to assess and questions to answer.
Articles A33 and A34, Roles for a church office, are now available online. Valuable material for churches wishing to review an existing office or planning to set one up.
NEW WEBSITE: This launched on 23rd July
After more than six months of design and development work, my new ‘responsive’ website is now live. You can access it on your tablet or smartphone as easily as on your PC.
It has a contemporary design and innovative navigation system. There are a number of new features including an alphabetical indexing of all the printed resources in addition to the normal thematic indexes and the main listings.
The Comment feature on resources has been withdrawn but I encourage comments direct to me by email and I will then add them to a new Author’s Notes section for each item.
The Administrators section has been enhanced – though some of this is only accessible to members of the UK Church Administrator Network (UCAN).
NEWS OF UCAN: Membership and events
Membership of UCAN has this past week topped the 1,000 mark after five years of steady growth. If you are an Administrator and receiving this version of this e-letter you are not yet a member. Do join! It’s all online.
