Resources e-letter 15:2 - April 2015
A new article has been uploaded to the website, A35, Mapping your church - Practical planning tools, and there is a last-minute call for the London Church Administrators training day on 22nd April.
Here is news of
- a new Article just uploaded to the website, and
- places available at the London Area Training Day for Church Administrators on 22nd April.
NEW: 'Mapping your church: Practical planning tools'
This article explains my 'Five Themes Map' which provides a means of checking out the whole of church life without being caught in the detail of each part.
There are five 'themes', each with nine 'areas'. Each of these 45 elements is explained and the article lists a number of practical applications.
There are then four supplementary mapping tools, explained rather more briefly:
- time lines
- physical maps
- statistical diagrams
- church database.
The whole offers a range of tools for church leadership teams and operations / administrative staff seeking to assess current life and to plan for the future.
Mapping your church: Practical planning tools is available now on the Articles page of the Resources section of the website.
URGENT: Places available on the London Area Training Day
Customer care for Church Administrators
The London event takes place in a few days’ time on Wednesday 22nd April. This has not booked up as expected (perhaps it was too close to Easter) and so there are places available to be booked this coming week.
The day was promoted to UCAN members in London but for Administrators working anywhere in the South-East of England its central venue (City Temple, five minutes from Farringdon Underground and City Thameslink mainline) offers easy travelling options.
Details on the UCAN events page of the website. Encourage your Administrator to book by email, by next Thursday if at all possible for catering purposes, and pay on the day.
We can also take more bookings at Manchester on 28th April and Bristol on 12th May. See the same webpage. The six days run so far have been enthusiastically received so don’t let your Administrator miss these opportunities if you are within reach of these venues.
Thank you for your interest in the website and with my warmest good wishes
