This month there is news of a new set of Training Notes on review, and details of my revised website which now focuses on my large and still growing collection of printed resources.

NEW: The value of reviewing the past
These notes promote the value of learning from what has happened to enable better planning for the future. There are seven lists of five examples each.
- Five types of review for church leaders and members
- Five possible reviewers
- Five elements of any review
- Five reasons why people are fearful of review
- Five benefits of creating a culture of review
- Five dangers of creating a culture of review
- Five not so common examples of church-based reviews
The examples include a personal review of one’s life and discipleship, review as part of staff appraisal, peer review within a team or group, exit interviews for church members who leave, and others. We are not to live in the past but to learn lessons from the past.
Training Notes TN157, The value of reviewing the past, is now available without charge on the Training Notes index page of my website.
A revised website
My new website is now live! It may look similar to the old one but has been reformatted to promote my resources rather than my client services which are no longer relevant following my retirement from client work at the start of the year.
So, gone are details of my consultancies and training workshops, and the main sections of ‘Resources’ and (a new) ‘Themes’ now take centre stage with a new category of resources added (see next section below). I have also taken the opportunity to remove all references to X (formerly known as Twitter) as I am no longer posting daily on this (and concerned at the direction it is taking) and to make a range of other adjustments throughout the site.
So do give it a visit and add it to your Bookmarks or Favourites.
A new resources category
Four of my more recent Articles have been subtitled A DIY training aid. They enable a church to run their own workshops based on my own design and include hand-out sheets for all participants. I plan to add several more in my retirement as I aim to make my workshops available to everyone in print.
So I have now introduced a new category for my resources: DIY Workshops with a W code. So W1, W2, W3 & W4 are now available in this new section of the website with more to come. This has meant renumbering a few recent Articles so there are no gaps. I appreciate that this could become confusing but I hope not. So on the new website:
A49 becomes W1
A50 becomes A49
A51 becomes A50
A52 becomes W2
A53 becomes A51
A54 becomes W3
A55 becomes A52
A56 becomes A53
A57 becomes W4
From A54 and W5 onwards it should be plain sailing! I thought it best to do this now and then everything will be normal again.
Please ensure all these materials are widely promoted in your church. Thank you for your interest in my website.
