Part 2: Three more perspectives
First published on this website in August 2014 and last updated in July 2024
Synopsis
This is the second part of a double article which looks at church offices in six distinct ways. This first part in Article A33 examines the office as the church's:
- reception point
- communications hub
- staff shield.
This second part studies the office as the church's
- community interface - visitors to the office, the privilege of representation and first impressions;
- volunteers' base - the need for a database, discovering gifts, the role of the Church Administrator in this;
- administrative work-station - the purpose you were expecting but deliberately left until last, covering administrative services and standards.
Both parts provide principles to consider, ideas to check, examples to assess and questions to answer. The first part of this article can be accessed here.
