Synopsis

These notes form a natural partner to TN38, We've got news for us! They relate to the idea of giving NEWS to people who are not part of your congregation. There are three parts.

What NEWS are you putting across?
You may do it by website, leaflets or signboards, but bear in mind you are also putting messages across by the appearance of your building, the behaviour of your members and the activities you run.

Get into NEWS-mode
Think news, Examine news, Understand news. It needs to be people-centred, visual, colourful, topical and relevant. Much of what churches put out fails in more than one of these areas.

Learn how to put NEWS across
Simple English, short paragraphs, plenty of spaces, tangible ideas, telling stories, leaving it open-ended.

The notes end with some creative ways to use letterbox leaflets and an exercise.
